Tokyo Calling 2

.

This event is completely SOLD OUT. Thank you.

Attention people of the J-Tin persuasion: Tokyo Calling 2, an all-Japanese, mostly-vintage rally is coming September 24th at 8am.

Before the rally, we’ll meet at 8am at an undisclosed start point in San Rafael, CA to hang out and get caffeinated. At 9am, we’ll take off in 3 groups (HARE, TORTOISE, and SNAIL groups) 5 minutes apart. We’ll touch down out in West Marin around noon, at which point you can grab lunch, relax and soak up the North Bay vibes, or just head on home.

Tickets are $35 (credit cards only; sorry, PayPal fans). What does your $35 get you? Only this: a parking sticker, an email with starting time, location, and route directions, and an amazing morning out on Northern California’s best backroads with a crüe of like-minded drivers.

What cars are eligible?
Any 1999 and earlier Japanese-made car, truck, utility vehicle, or van. Additionally, certain 2000 and later cars are welcome to apply- specifically, “enthusiast” models and other “interesting“ vehicles- sports cars, low production runs, unusual/exotic marques, etc. Some examples of eligible post-1999 cars: Honda S2000, Nissan GTR, Toyota Supra, Acura NSX, Toyota MR2, Mitsubishi Evolution, Subaru WRX STI, kei cars, imported JDM models, etc. Post-1999 SUVs/CUVs/trucks/minivans are not eligible.*

All applications are subject to review and approval by BCR; in the case your application is not accepted, your ticket fee will be refunded. Ticket is per vehicle  -  not per person. Share the good times; feel free to bring as many people (or pets) as your car can safely seat.

*If in doubt your model year 2000 or newer vehicle is eligible, feel free to check with us prior to submitting an application - click here.

Additional info:

The registration fee for this event is $35 per vehicle. Once your application is accepted by BCR, there are no refunds; before you click “Purchase Ticket," triple-check that you are available on the date in question and that your car is in working mechanical order for the drive.

This event is rain or shine.

Drivers must be at least 18 years old. Registration is valid for a single driver (named in the registration application).

Co-drivers welcome: fill out appropriate section of registration form.

Don’t make us say “no burnouts.” You’re better than that, right?

BCR has a strict “No Suitcasing” policy: this is a drive, not a marketing opportunity. Leave your logos, leaflets, FOR SALE signs, stickers, business cards, flyers, and branded trinkets at home.

The drive begins staging at 9am and will take about 2.5 hrs. Drive at a speed comfortable to you, taking into consideration weather and road conditions, always yield to quicker vehicles, and never pass on a double yellow line.

A link to download turn-by-turn directions will be sent the week of the drive. Read them. Learn them. Know them. Live them. Don’t rely on the person in front of you to know where they’re going- they don’t.

Roads are pretty smooth the whole way; usual bumps and such, nothing major.

Gas up prior to arriving at the starting location; limited gas stations along the route.

Cell reception unavailable in some areas.

People live and work in these areas we drive through. Be courteous to business owners, employees, homeowners, ranchers, cyclists, pedestrians, pets and livestock you encounter- let’s keep BCR welcome in the area.
